A preciously rare and previously undocumented southeastern Virginia Neo-classical Federal mahogany candle-stand, circa 1795-1810. The present southern candle-stand is constructed of very dense figured mahogany and is quite heavy. The turnings on its mid-shaft are very refined and indicate an urban area of manufacture, most likely Norfolk, but are also reminiscent of some Baltimore examples...

This is a very nice late 19th century Stand made from solid walnut and consisting of a square top with its original Red Royal inset marble, which has been repaired at some point, supported by 4 lovely turned columns with twisted fluted pattern standing on a square base. This is a charming set of 6 dining chairs made from solid and lovely patinaed walnut by the beginning of the 20th century. Each directly inspired of the Louis XV Style with serpentine shaped backs and seats, all boasting their original caning and supported by gracefully scrolled cabriole legs. This fine piece is in two halves with brass mounts and a central secretaire drawer. The whole interior, writing surface and facing drawers is veneered with walnut, perhaps specially commissioned?
