The top opens and swivels to form the playing surface and the drawer opens to a backgammon board. A French Late Nineteenth Century Louis XVI Style satinwood parquetry dessert, circa 1900. Each plateau is inlaid with a wonderful satinwood parquetry. The edges are case with a bronze bezzle. This extraordinary antique Empire Revival mahogany center table measures an impressive 70.4" across and 32" tall (179 cm by 81 cm) and features four pairs of gilded Greek caryatid figures. The top is made of four sections which fit tightly. There are no major chips to the stone. Condition of the frame is excellent. Chips and nicks to the veneer and composition caryatids are consistent with age. We will be happy to complete professional restoration at our cost prior to shipment.

Mahogany side chairs with diamond splat and finely carved ball and claw feet. The crest rail on these chairs is a rare and probably undocumented form; these chairs are marked number IV and VII.
