This is a very nice pair of bronze sconces made around the middle part of the 19th century by the end of the Napoleon III era. This pair is directly inspired of the Louis XVI style more or less eighty years earlier. Each consisting of back plate intricately accented with acanthus patterns and trellis design and mounted with three arms with plates and bobeches originally for candles. They have been pierced at some point to allow wiring to mount them into lamps. Circa date 1850-1860...

Fine pair of 19th Century French five light crystal and ormolu sconces in the Louis XIV style, having an ormolu torch form backplate surmounted by a flaming urn, a central floral decorated support with four scrolling candle arms, extensively decorated with crystal swags and pendants. Circa 1860, now drilled and wired for electricity.

Wired in the early 20th century is the very hard to find bronze gas wall lamp with a Chinese porcelain famille rose Mandarin font. Condition: May want to rewire, paint the bronze, remove black finish, or leave as is. Measures 10" by 6" high. Porcelain font measures 1.5" by 2.75"
This pair of gilt bronze sconces in the neoclassical style feature anthemions (palmettes) at the top and bottom, and a single candle arm decorated with an eagle's head. Each measures 14.2" tall, 2.8" wide and 7" deep. They have been regilded and have a brilliant finish. We may add sockets and wiring for an additional fee. This is a lovely antique sconce made of hand-blown ruby red glass and etched mirrored glass. Believed to date from the mid to late 19th century. Rim of the candle holder features a pretty ruffled shape. Condition is excellent. Original silvering is intact. No visible cracks, chips or restorations. Some minor scratches to the mirror surface. Rear has its original hanging hook. Some corrosion to the mount but it's not noticeable behind the candle socket...

We are not positive whether this is French fin de siecle, or American Art Nouveau circa 1905-1915, but in any event an elegant piece...
Included here is a matching set of four antique bronze sconces, each featuring two candle arms, gadrooned wall plate and crystal pendants with etched floral decoration. Measurements are approximate. Each has been newly wired with new sockets which accept candelabra size bulbs. There are no hallmarks and the maker is unknown. Their style is distinctly English Georgian, but will compliment any neoclassical decor such as French Louis XVI or Empire, or American Federal.
Solid cast and gilded on all surfaces with urn flanked by two dolphins, original bevelled mirrors (silvering shows some deterioration) marked 'B&H', presumably Bradley & Hubbard of Meriden, Conn., (1852-1940), manufacturers of all manner of high quality brass accessories, these date from the last quarter of the 19th century.
