Back in the days when pills were made by hand, a pill rounder such as this (sometimes called a pill finisher), was used to create perfect pill spheres via use of a circular or figure-8 motion. The pill then would be dusted with powder, ready for dispensing by the apothecary.

Made of light-colored fruitwood (treen), this handsome tool of the trade has two different recessed depths used to finish or create, two different diameter pills.

Dates to C1880 and the condition is very good...

Well, this was recently acquired from the estate of a 100 year old resident. The nickel plated shaver is in very nice condition, complete with a blade and box that is lined in a purple velvet type material. The interior is labeled “ANTICOR – The Saftey Corn Shaver” and the directions are printed on the label noted on the bottom of the box.

The box measures 4 inches long and is in good condition.

A must for the foot doctor in your life.

Very rare antique cut crystal with a sterling silver cap alcohol holder complete with a sterling chain attached to a sterling silver thermometer case which contains the original thermometer. A very large and usual early type brass mortar with a corrosponding pestle, very decorative and a nice antique for both display and kitchen use. Note the pecular wide upper part, which we haven't seen before and must have been made in a few early years only during the 18th. century.
