An interesting antique staghorn walking stick with an excellently carved male head – a portrait? The partly dark and dotty structure of the horn is skilfully used to underline the grotesque character of the face. The stick was found in Sweden and the silver mounting between handle and stick bears hallmarks from Dalecarlia in Sweden and year mark for 1891. This knife would only be used on the first cutting of the season and as with most all of the rice cultivators in Asia there is a great deal of ritual and importance given to this act, regardless of the religion i.e. Buddhist, animist, Hindu etc. The animal bone handle has a wonderful original patina and the blade is still quite sharp. Antique French Gilt Bronze Ormolu Boudoir Wall Clock & Barometer

The clock is 4.76 inches (12.1 cm) long by 3.46 inches (8.8 cm) wide and 1.77 inches (4.5 cm) thick. The barometer is 4.7 inches (12 cm) long by 3.4 inches (8.7 cm) wide and 1.85 inches (4.7 cm) thick. The total weight is 1.8 Lb.

They are tarnished and have stains at the enamel face, a enamel chip at the clock's face, loss of gilding, and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos)...

Offered for sale is a desireable Civil War era, wide mouth, apothecary bottle sporting “FLOR. CASS.” on the under glass label! I believe that it means FLOWER CASSIA.

The nine inch tall bottle sports the following embossing on the base: "W.N.WALTON PAT'D SEPT. 23D 1862." The fancy, applied recessed label is complete, shows minor age related flaws and is in very good condition.

The bottle has a few unobtrusive manufacturing bubbles and flaws; otherwise no damage. The stopper is missing as...

A set of 4 very old and nicely patinated European Powderhorns, made of flat-pressed cowhorns, leather and wood, all can be dated around 1700-1762.

One horn is particularly interesting, with the upperpart carved as an animals mouth, with an engraving of a deer and inscribed and dated 1706!
Another horn is dated and initialized to 1762, but is probably an earlier horn with a 1762 dating.
