Antique Japanese tamba storage jar. Large open mouth with akadobe glaze, which consists of russet and blue runny glaze. Tapers in shape down to the base. This form is animated through the irregularities of the firing of the kiln.

A very high quality early wooden figure, Ivory Coast, Baulé, provenanced and from the early 20th. century or even earlier.

The figure appears facing the front, symmetrical with her arms resting on her stomach, which was a sign of peace for the Baulé people.

An artful carving in a hard dark solid wood. Wonderful facial expression even for the elaborate type, with its half-closed eyes, which resembles coffee grains, that give the face a serene expression...
