Ethiopian Harari Basket, coil built of reeds and woven natural dyed grasses as the design, leather bound foot and rim with four straps decorated with three applied cowrie shells each. A shallow bowl form with footed base having a decorative geometric pattern in tones of red, maize and sienna. MASSIVE ANTIQUE HEAVY BRACELET CURRENCY, WESTAFRICA, LIKELY NIGER, 17TH.-18TH. CENTURY.
A very large specimen weighing around 850 grams, so it represented enormous wealth in trade in Western Africa. Unusually fine workmanship and and expertly decorated as well.

Condition: Superb! With fine clear engravings and a wonderful rich brown patina that testify the great age of the piece.
A choice bronze necklace from Nigeria, ca. late 1800's. It is 19” long and is comprised of a variety of beads, a number with incised designs. The large 2-3/4” pendant has the odd appearance of an empty pocket watch and there is a pair of 2-1/2” ornaments extending from the sides.
This is a Moroccan BERBER Headdress from about 1980's or Earlier. It is made of silver / sterling silver and several stones. It measures about 7 1/2" X 7 1/2" X 10 1/2" ( 19.1 cm X 19.1 cm X 26.8 cm ).

A puzzling stone carving that SC bought in large estate with antiquities.
The stone ´carving is a fragment of a larger structure and with the carving of a beautiful african head and a couple of lizzards. The style and fine patina, does indicate an ancient date of manifacture. Likely Western Africa.

Two small void areas in base, which is ornamented with typical Benin incised leaf patterns and ropework along the edges. Remarkable detail throughout.
