A very beautiful matching pair of Maya Jade ear ornaments from the classic period CA 500 AD to 800 AD. Both measuring 3 1/2" by 3 1/4".The form is Semi round having a large central opening and wide flare. Both have double perforations for attachment. A small amount of red pigment on each. One repaired from two original pieces, along with a few minor rim chips otherwise both are intact

This is a fine example of the San Patrice, Hope Variety, early Archaic or transitional Paleo point dating to around 8000BC. It was found in Jasper County, Texas. It is made from translucent fossilized palmwood. It is fluted on both sides. It is 1/1/2" long and the base is ground. The edges are serrated. This glacial kame green banded slate gorget is 4" long. It was found near New Castle in Henry County, Indiana. It came out of the Chris Thompson collection. I purchased it from Gary Mumaw. Pictured in Prehistoric Antiquities, August 1995, page 44. This piece dates to late Archaic C2500BC. It is a beauty with fine concentric banding.
