A medium sized Hopi Kachina doll carved by Wilson Tewaquaptewa circa 1930. Tewaquaptewa (1871-1960) was the last chief of Old Oraibi. He produced Kachina dolls which are a combination of many dolls and figments of his own imagination. He believed that you didn't carve actual Kachinas for the tourist market. His dolls are usually monochromatic in color (brown, ochre and white and black). His use of symbols, painted on the case mask, seems to be arbitrary. DIMENSIONS: 7" tall.

Chimu painted Textile with Monkeys Jaguars birds and Warriors , all painted on a white cotton type textile. Losses as seen along with the usual burial staining . Beautiful piece would be nice framed. Size 41" by 21"

This early South Coast textile incorporates a two-headed serpent motif, together with a human (or divine) being with arms raised high (sometimes referred to as "the oculate being," because of the prominent, bulging eyes.). Classic south coast imagery, most probably Nazca (Nasca). I included a photograph of a much later related image, dating to perhaps as much as one thousand years later, to show the continuity of the imagery...

The first contact with Europeans brought with it small pot to the Hopi people of the mesa's and to make things even worst they experience the worst droughts they had experience at that time which made some flee and take refuge with and in the Zuni Pueblo's to the east of them, the refugees returned to the Hopi lands appro: 1700 ad, and they had adopted the Zuni polychrome style of pottery making from that point forward to approx: 1890 ad. This canteen is appro: 1850 to 1890 ad...

An incredible blackstone finial from a sceptre or macehead, Pre-columbian Moche Culture, ca. 4th.-7th. cent. AD.

An exceptional piece decorated with 4 figures in each corner of the trapezoid carving; they are holding on their belly with both hands and each is wearing a headdress. The space between the figures decorated with a pattern of oval depressions. The finial hollowed in the center for mounting it as a club or sceptre.

Mexican Pre Columbian Tlatilco Terracotta Head. Rare fragment from an early culture c 1200bc-600bc. Tlatilco is noted in particular for its high quality pottery pieces, many featuring Olmec iconography and elaborate hair styles. This head of a large female with a heavy curled hair style, chip to lower lip . Size 2.5" h by 2.25" wide

With a buffalo parfleche hard sole. Small seed bead. In pink, green, brown, and greasy yellow. Peco beaded black beads surrounding a red silk edging. c. 1860-70 Length 10 1/4" X Width 3 3/8"

A New Mexican straw-overlay black-stained pine document box circa 1850. Provenance: Al Luckett Collection, sold at Sotheby's "American Furniture and Decorative Arts from Spain's Northern Colonial Frontier", New York, Thursday January 15, 1998, Lot No. 39. Extremely Fine Condition considering the age. 16 1/8" long, 10 3/8" wide, 7 1/4" high.

This Olmec translucent jade figure is 1 7/8" long. The bottom was broken off in antiquity which allows one to peer into its ancient patina and jade composition and also keeps the price affordable. The drill hole is original which is important as it is the best place to look at for authenticity. I had a jeweler install a modern 14K gold loop so I could wear it. It has excellent provenance which goes to the buyer.

A pair of early 19th century beaded deer hide moccasins. Seed beads, deer skin, clear beads, silk ribbon. The moccasins are probably from Niagara Falls area. c. 1830-40 Length 9" Provenance: Owned by Thomas Wistar (1798-1876) a Quaker, who was commissioned by President Grant to arrange treaties with Indian tribes. His papers are in the collection of Haverford College. Sale 1262 Lot 167, Freeman's Auction House in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on November 18, 2006.

Important huge granite stone ritual pestle shaped as a bust or head with neck, Pre-columbian, the Dominican Republic, Taino Culture, ca. 1000-1500 A.D.

This sculpture, likely the head of Zemi(?), is authentic and comes with a beautiful ancient patina and provenance to a reknown old German collection, read below.

This petrified wood tang knife is from the four-corners area of the southwest. It is 3 1/4" long. It is from the Wallis-Thomas collection. The base of the tang has been snapped off anciently, but does not detract.

Finely preserved - the lines on the face are just lines from the making in the mold. A moldmade blackware pottery flask, molded as the face of a 'Sungod' with human features, above a sun symbol and on the backside another sun-symbol or a depiction of the sun with rays. Tall spout protruding from his head. Decorated with starshaped dotted pattern.
