A Veracruz stone yoke circa 250-950 AD in characteristic U-form, the thick implement with polished surface except for the outside. A flat top, the sides tapering slightly downwards. The end of each arm is relief- carved with an ornate pattern of complementary bands and scrolling plumage-like motifs. Remains of a red pigment in a speckled grey-light green stone. A medium seated Ameca style female figure, cream slip surface with traces of black painted decoration. Mineral deposits and root marks on the surface. Repaired form approximately six original pieces, left arm retached with breakline clearly visible with loss along breakline.

I purchased this river-stained tally-marked four-directional/cross bone pendant from Tom Davis on 8-7-92. Tom had owned it for 10 years and he purchased it from the finder. The finder's name will be revealed to the buyer on purchase. I have the original receipt from Tom. A very very rare "Dancer" figure from Teotihuacan of the Classic period 300 AD-900 AD. What makes this figure so special is the remarkably detailed and expressive face of this "Dancer". What makes it so rare is that the head, body, arms and legs are all matching even though the arms and head have been reattached when the figure was found. This ceramic warrior is in the process of throwing a rock with another in his hand and a basket full on his back. It is from the estate of the late Lynn Langdon. The figure was acquired in Mexico in the mid-20th century and is attributed to the Colima horizon, c.300BC-300AD. It is 4" tall. It retains some red pigment. This nicely translucent Rose Springs was found in Colorado. It measures 1 5/16" X 11/16". It is made from a beautiful translucent waxy agate. It comes with a Jackson COA. A very nice point.

This early pre-classic olmecoid figure dates from approximately 1250 BCE to 800BCE it measures 5 1/2" by 4 1/2".Mineral deposits and root marks. The head has been reattached. The figure was in the collection of Robert Ruark, the highly acclaimed writer and acquired from Arte Primitivo.

A Mezcala stone figure from the pre-Classic period [1200 BC-300 AD] with folded arms. 5.25" high.

Two extremely rare and very attractive figurines from the Manteno culture: An oval shaped vessel with a human face and crossed legs of an animal in front. The face and the mouth of the vessel are framed by dashed lines and a stylized, sitting man with oversized head, 1000-1500 AD.

Wonderful archaic and very artful details. This set is extremely rare; we haven't similar style figures from Manteno in the trade for more than 20 years of dealing!

A rare Sultepec mask, possessing a great nose. This piece dates from approximately 500BC to 200Bc it measures 5 1/2" by 4" wide the nose rises 3" from the back. there appears to be a small amount of repair to the nose. there is an old auction number as well as a small tag with DeRoche on it, although I haven't spoken with Dave it is possible it was once in his gallery in San Francisco.There is a small chip on the right side of the top. This is a great mask at a great price.
