This is a very nice bronze dagger or spear blade from the ancient near East - probably from Northern Iran circa 1200 BC or earlier. It has a thin, flat blade with a reinforced midrib. It has a perforation in the tang which is covered by the patina. It also has some slight bending in the blade which is why I have listed it for such a low price. It does not appear to be damaged or repaired in any other way. It measures roughly 23 cm in length and weighs 84 grams.

Ancient Greek Cypriot bronze tanged dagger or spear blade from the Bronze Age, dating back to circa 2500-1600 B.C. The blade has a broad tapering double-edged shape with a flattened central rib flanked by two shallow fullers, making it perfect for thrusting and cutting. The blade extends into a rectangular-section tang with a "hooked" terminal at the end for easy attachment to a handle or shaft.

Black-figure depiction of naked youths with clamydes that cover their shoulders and bystanders clad in cloaks. All figures hold spears.
The scene is framed with ivy garlands on the sides and buds alternating with dots on the marked shoulder. A row of tongues emerge from the ridged junction to the neck.

The handle zone decorated with dots, three bands below. Reserved surface is covered with a thin brownish wash.
The flaring ring foot with applied red-brown, single circle and central dot on the reserved bottom.
The shape is a Corinthian creation and also known as kotyle.
