An ancient Egyptian Scarab, c. 1000 BC, from the famous Mitry collection (see our Homepage). It is 1/2” long (13 mm) and made of steatite, an easy-to-carve stone that hardens when heated. Scarabs empowered life and resurrection and were often placed under mummy wrappings to protect the body and to help it resurrect. This Scarab comes in a jewelry display cup.
Interesting cylinder seal, probably in faience, engraved with symethric patterns, Mesopotamia, Jemdet Nasr, 3300-2900 BC.
Size: 30 mm. tall and 10 mm. wide.
Condition: Very fine.

Majestic ancient Roman imperial marble figure of an eagle, 1st Century AD
Standing on an integral trapezoidal base with its wings closed and crossing over the tail, with a short rounded beak and bulging eyes, thick feathers densely covering the legs, breast, neck and wings

Attractive Greek Campanian red-figure squat lekythos with palmette. Late 4th century BC.
Height 10,8cm, ø corpus 5,1cm.
Condition: The jug intact, with minor ancient chip to the rim and encrustations. The decorations are finely preserved on this vessel. Small pinhole drilled in antiquity in the base rim.
A fine condition greek pottery amphora or Kantharos with black and red belt decorations, Southern Italian, c. 4th.-3rd. century BC.
The vessel with twin handles and very elegantly moulded and painted.

A very elaborate and beautiful bronze oil lamp filler, very large for type, Early Islamic period of the ancient Near East, probably Seljuq Empire and c. 10th.-11th. cent. AD.
The bronze vessel shaped as a bird with large tail, beak and broad wings. Engraved on wings and tail with fine low relief carvings.
Size: 13,3 cm. long and 11,6 cm. wide.

Mosaic glass pendant in the shape of a bearded head, surmounted by a large loop for attachment to a necklace. Phenicia, or Carthage, archaic period, 350 to 200 B.C. Height: 6.1 cm. Barely visible old accident, superbly restored, otherwise very good condition. NOTE: similar pendants are shown in the Antique Glass Collection of the Louvre Museum in Paris. A small coll. of four Danish Neolithic Daggertime blades, dating to around 2200-2000 BC.
The lot consist of a small spear, 8,5 cm. Two fragments of daggers, 9 & 6,5 cm and a toothedged sickle / saw, measuring 12 cm.
An interesting collection of nice neolithic blades and fragments.
Condition: The spear is intact, the other pieces are large fragments. Nice patinas and old collection tags on all pieces.
