Fine red-figure lekythos decorated with a woman clad in a heavy himation, her wrapped hands in front of her chest. The finely pleated chiton underneath rendered with dilute glaze.
The woman stands in front of a column with prominent capital and base, on the right a suspended sash.
The frieze with a key pattern and top and a reserved ground line. Two bands of (faded) tongues on the shoulder. Outer edge and bottom of the foot reserved.

A wonderful head of a stargazer idol in a rare hard greyish stone for this type, a female idols of Kiliya type, Anatolia, c. 3000-2500 BC.

The type with a triancular head, pronounced ridge and protuding eyes.

Size: 53 mm. tall.

Condition: Very fine, some white deposits uncleaned.

This is a bronze age harpoon from Northern India dating to circa 1500 BC. This magnificent piece weighs 303 grams and measures roughly 249 mm in length (the smallest one I currently have in stock). Scarce and very important, Museum Quality, antique,16th century, Turkish Ottoman gilt copper (Tombak) Islamic saddle axe head Balta. The axe head features a flaring downward-curving blade, a central block reinforced with slender vertical ribs, and a protruding rear hammer of a square flaring section.

Each face of the axe has finely carved and engraved floral patterns, including blooming tulips and other flowers on punched ground...

Interesting and impressive large stamp seal of the hemispheric form so popular in the late Ubaid/Uruk period in Mesopotamia.

The seal is carved with the image of a bird or animal headed demon walking. Really high relief and artfully done. Also interesting, the surface of the seal is drilled with small holes (not deep) as a sort of decoration.
