The rim celadon seji glazed and decorated with a depiction of the Three Friends of Winter in gilt outlined enamels. The reverse of the dish is celadon glazed to the foot-ring. The foot-ring containing a six character mark for the Ming Emperor Chengua and a set of five spur marks in a square or cross formation...

A very fine sometsuke dish of scalloped octalobed form painted with a mon form central motif of a symmetrically arranged pair of leaping carp. Framed by a continuous band of botan karakusa, Peonie lotus scroll, within which are reserves containing, dragons, Ryu, in clouds and a gilt rim, kin-beni. The reverse decorated with hagi-karakusa, vine pattern and a six character mark for the Chinese Emperor Jiajing. The quality of the painting is of the highest standard...

A good quality five colour Imari deep bowl decorated with a meandering arabesque of double headed Peach flowers. The interior decorated with boughs of the same, and the base decorated with a Clove motif in green enamel (Oliver Impey identifies this as a Daikon). The bowl measures 8 inches 20.5cm in diameter and is in good condition, some slight frits to the rim, no crack, chips or restoration, some slight losses to the enamels. English Provenance. This is a finely hand-carved Japanese Netsuke depicting a Man who is kneeling on a platform or base, while feeding a treat to his dog. Excellent detail and expression. Great two-tone patina. Outstanding huge chimney himotoshi, common of netsuke from this period. Unsigned. Base measure 1.14 X 0.86 inches (2.8 X 2.1cm) Netsuke is 1.78 inches (4.5cm) tall. Netsuke is in excellent preserved condition.

Exceedingly Rare 18th Century Japanese Karakuri-Ningyo (Mechanical Doll) of a whimsical figure from the early Edo Period, classic in its form. This figure is moved by strings and pulleys operated by three men hidden out of site. This one was part of a festival float, possibly for the Gion (New Year) Festival. This Ningyo has a fantastic face of the period. He is wearing a gorgeous costume of the finest textiles and sumptuous brocades...

A fine quality five colour Arita shallow saucer dish decorated with Cherry branches and storm waves, arashi-nami, awash with fallen rafts of cherry blossom. Presumably the design is a play on the words nami, wave, and hannami, cherry viewing, and the design derived from a contemporary or earlier textile pattern. The reverse of the dish simply decorated with cherry blossom. Dating early Eighteenth century, circa 1700-20. The dish is in good condition with no cracks chips or restoration...

A long dish of elliptical form moulded with petals decorated with a dense hagi-karakusa ground and an oval reserve containing a simple flowering Apricot, ume, growing from a rock. The reverse decorated with Karakusa sprigs, and a spiral Fuku within a double square. The dish dates to the early Eighteenth century circa 1700-1740. The dish is in good condition with no chips, cracks or restoration. It measures 20.3cm in diameter, 10xm at its widest and stands 4.5cm high

This is Edo kasuri child kimono echigo-jyofu Rare. It is wonderful, beautiful kasuri. The motif looks like amaryu (raining dragon). There are a little stain and a small hole. However, the state is very good. I recommends it for your collection. Textile seems to be hand spun and woven, and has soft touch. Echigo-jyofu was born in middle (749-756) on the age of Jomon. In it, latter term (1670-1780) was a season from the middle of Edo period...

This is a fine 18th century 5.75 inch Nabeshima footed dish with blue underglaze, decorated with two enameled peaches and leaves. There are two old gold lacquer repairs to the rim.

Rare and Spectacular Edo Period Musha Ningyo of Toyotomi Hideyoshi (circa 1780). A musha ningyo (Warrior doll or Boy's Day doll) modeled after the seated Toyotomi Hideyoshi in armor with an eboshi winged hat and a sword, holding a gunbai-uchiwa (military fan). This is the first one found by the same maker as the Hideyoshi in the famed Ayervais collection (cf.
