18th century Japanese sword iron tsuba made in a shape of two confronting SHU - Japanese flute instruments for use in Shinto ceremony and consisting of bamboo reeds forming a circular wind chamber. The lower parts of the flutes are inlaid with pine designs in gold. Very clever design in Japanese taste, wonderful quality inlay, some rusting as can be seen in photos, great feel of age. Height 2.85 inches (72.4 mm).
Chinese Bridal large Red Lacquer on wood Food Container or storage bowl with removable tops, 7" high, 20 5/8" diameter on top, made in 19th century. The low relief carving in brown lacquer work scrolling vines on red lacquer base is in good condition with some gold highlighted between the decoration. The top is in two(2) pieces, lift to open, the holes are for air circulation. Shows some joining separations, and wrapped around with original metal wire...
DESCRIPTION: An attractive scholar's calligraphy brush, crafted using long brown horsehair bristles attached to a bulbous ox-horn ferrule and segmented, solid ox- horn shaft. A very handsome brush in good condition from the latter Qing Dynasty, which would have been used for calligraphy or painting. DIMENSIONS: 14” long (35.5 cm).

Chinese Blue and White Porcelain Double Happiness Ginger Jar with fitted Rosewood carved top, Ca. late 1800's, 10 1/2" high with wooden top, 9" wide-widest part, 4 1/4" diameter-top rim, underglaze blue Double Happiness with Snow Pea flowers and vines, typical Straits culture design in China. The condition is good, very tight star shape glaze hairline on the bottom in the center about 2" to 3" wide, very old chip inside the top rim, this jar rings like bell.
19th century boxwood netsuke representing a theatrical mask of Buaku type. Wonderful quality detailed carving, lighter wood (probably ichii - Japanese yew wood), excellent staining and patina. The signature on the back bar appears to read GENRYO followed by kakihan (carved monogram) of the artist. Height 1 1/4 inches.
Very large Burmese hammered repousse copper-brass-bronze alloy bowl, with traces of silver, decorated with 4 relief panels depicting rice farming scenes and stylized scroll foliage. An Ai-Kutani plate, Arita circa 1700. Decorated in underglaze blue with various molluscs amongst seaweed clad rocks. The back is plain with three spur marks within the foot-rim. Overall the glaze has a blue tinge.
