For sale is this very fine Japanese mixed media bronze Koro decorated with Heron in high relief, signed Seiya, Meiji period. The Heron in white metal with eyes picked out in gold and black, their legs of a different metal media. Each bird is naturalistically modelled and the complete piece is set off with the backdrop of the bronze colour from the Koro itself. The Koro is undamaged and shows only slight casting imperfections on one leg only,and on the rear of the main ovid body (Very slight)...

Coptic square panel with the winged Eros flying over a rarely seen sea monster.
The mixed creature appears with the masterly rendered head of a lioness, wings (?) and a twisted body ending in a fish tail.
Stitched linear details. The sea monster with a dotted skin.
The figures are inside an octagonal medallion with stylized flowers in the corners. The panel is bordered with floral ornaments.

This is a frame of Columbia River Gem Points and included are several other gem points from other regions. Most all are G-10. There are 18 points made from translucent agatized petrified wood. The top, 4th from the left is a translucent agatized yellow/caramel/butterscotch point made from the inside of a thunder egg. Combine this with my other two Columbia River Gem Points, 1290729 and 1240263 and you will have one of the finest gem point collections in existence...
A bronze Lion with its original dark patination made in China, possibly as a censer, during the Ming dynasty (1368-1644, most likely during the 16th or early 17th Century.
Condition: there are some very old losses to the applied decoration - a part of the "beard" is missing,the right ear has been re-attached and the base has an old wood block infill; there has been no restoration.

A pair of Imari tea bowls and saucers made for export to Europe decorated with a pattern of Hydrangea plants framed by a reserves bordered with brocade drapery tied with ribbons.
The tea bowls are in good condition with no cracks, chips or restoration. They measure approximately 7.3 cm in diameter and are 4.2 cm in height. The saucers are also in good condition with no cracks, chips or restoration. However both have some glazing flaws, glaze skip, to the reverse, and one has some random crazing...

An excellent Chimu-Inca zoomorphic effigy vessel from Peru, ca. 1100 - 1450 AD. This fine redware example is 7-1/2" high and depicts a recumbent llama with rein and halter around its head. The legs and tail are molded in high relief and the expressive face is highlighted with cream pigment. Intact, with strong mineral deposits.
A marvelous Maya cylinder from El Salvador, ca. 400 – 800 AD. This choice example is 6-7/8” high, 5-1/2” in diameter, it is decorated with carved zoomorphic and stucco covered registers that are fertility related. The two carved bands depict frogs and are accented with highly burnished black slip. The intervening bands are ribbed and covered with blue and red stucco, with the broad rim band retaining some of the original designs painted in white, blue and yellow...
