This Lost Lake is from Todd County, Kentucky and is 3" long by 2" at its widest point. The material is a typical Archaic opaque chert. It has great mineralization and patina. It has a Tom Davis COA rated G-8. I would rate it higher. It is a classic form. Shows much nicer in person.

A highly interesting and very accomplished Blackware vessel with the portrait head of a living man, Precolumbian Peru, Late Moche or early Chimú, 7th.-9th. century AD.

Superbly detailed and rather substantial vessel, made as a grinning man with his tungue between his teeth and wearing larger earrings and headdress, the spout of the vessel prodruding from the top of his head. Rather scarce piece!

Rare, beaded hide, sinew sewn, miniature Sioux Blanket Strip circa 1880. Decorated with four central medallions with geometric designs. It is attached to a red textile. This may be one of the smallest blaket strips known. The strip measures 30 1/2" Long x 1 1/2" Wide, and the medallions are 2 1/8" in diameter. The red textile measures 43" Tall x 40" Wide.

2 sterling tupu or shawl pins, Peruvian in origin, appear to be older and used examples, likely date to 19th century, in the style that has been utilized since the pre Hispanic era by the Inca culture. Measure: Larger is 8" long and 1 5/8" wide in bowl; smaller is 7 1/4" long and 1 1/8" wide. Both are incised with designs and have loops on each side, these sometimes held other ornamental items attached with small chain. Tupu, or Tupo, have been used in the Andes mountains since pre-columbia...

This finely carved shell skull was found by the famous Dr. Allen Heflin on 9-16-61 in Cuautitlan, Mexico. This Aztec piece dates to 1200AD. It is drilled for suspension. A nice little ancient piece that could be used in jewelry. It is 1/2" long and solid.

This extremely rare 6 1/2" angular owl effigy pipe was found by Dr. Allen Heflin in 1958 at the Tzintzuntzan, Michoacan site in Mexico. It is type 3A. The pupil of the right eye is missing. This is truly a fabulous pipe of which only a few exist in private collections.
