This extremely rare Mimbres reed arrow with a foreshaft and a translucent flint point is 35" long. Everything is original including all the sinew and some feather residue. There has been no restoration or repair. It was found in the four corners area on private property. Cached in caves, bows and arrows from the prehistoric Southwest have survived the ravages of time and weather. It dates to around 1100AD. I purchased it from the Bob Rock collection in 1988...
Circa 1470-1532 AD pre-Columbian Inca ritual offering vessel
Conopa in the shape of a Llama. Hand carved from a fine brown grained stone, then polished with sand and water, with a hole in its back called a "qocha" (lagoon) the container for offerings during the ceremony "haywarisqa" (ceremony of offerings). Llama fat and blood mixed with coca leaves were presented to the gods.

Ornate Mexcian Bridle with brass tacks & rivets circa 1890. Decorated, triangular harness leather on the browband, and circular, decorative harness leather attachments. The bridle measures 19 1/4" long x 9 1/2" wide.

The three points are carved in silex and other stone. They can probably be dated to the 2nd.-1st. millenium BC...

A group of Penobscot Maine baskets of small size. Each features the use of sweetgrass and various natural dyes. The condition of each is excellent, with good color and little or no splits, etc.
The baskets are as follows:
m1007: a lidded amphora shaped basket with blue dye 5 1/4" height, 6 1/2" diameter
m1008: a lidded round basket with orange and blue dyes 1 3/4" height, 3 7/8" diameter
m1009: a lidded thimble case with orange dye 1 1/8" height, 1" diameter
Ancient, Pre-Columbian, Colima culture Protoclassic (100 BC to 250AD) ceramic effigy vessel in the form of a duck with low rounded body, small wings to the sides as if ready for flaying, the short tail at the back and the flaring spout emerging from the center.
CONDITION: as can be seen in this photo, the piece has been broken and re-glued in same places.

Classic Olmec los Bocas figure. 1200 B.C.E. -500 B.C.E. this excellently crafted figure has faint traces of red pigment with mineral deposits. He (no breasts, or sexual elements) is wearing a helmet or headdress, with what appears to be some form of jewelry over his nose or upper lip. this piece is all intact with no visible repairs, small amount of normal chipping around nose and feet. Many years ago I put this piece into auction with Arte Primitivo...
This is an extremely rare Paleo Folsom made from a dark gray, translucent flint. It is 1 11/16" by 13/16". Both faces are fluted to the tip. The basal edge is concave and the haft is ground most of the way up the blade edges. It has classic Folsom edge work...
Relics of the nile is pleased to present this Mayan bowl from Guatemala, ca. 500 - 800 AD. The bowl features solid color with an excellent, detailed design of chiefs that repeats around the circumference of the piece. The bowl remains in solid condition and the body remains intact with the exception of some chipping on the rim that has been slightly repaired in one place. The bowl measures 6" in diameter and has evidence of extensive usage, good root marks and mineral deposits.

This very fine drilled 6 1/4" carved bone shawl or hair pin depicts three birds eating a large snake and is engraved on both sides. It is beautifully patinated.

This is a fine example of the San Patrice, Hope Variety, early Archaic or transitional Paleo point dating to around 8000BC. It was found in Jasper County, Texas. It is made from translucent fossilized palmwood. It is fluted on both sides. It is 1/1/2" long and the base is ground. The edges are serrated.
