This pointed bone splitter tool from the Bill Peterson Collection and ex-Jim Bennett is 5" L, including a 2" glued piece. It was found in Kentucky and shows incredible patina. It has a drilled hole for suspension. It is just a really neat bone tool in unusual form. It has been preserved with an Elmer's glue mix which many old collections used. I will hate to see this one go.

This is a hammered sheet silver breastplate with the neatest iconography that I have seen. This piece screams pre-Columbian. It depicts a fanged anthropomorphic transformational diety war god figure in full regalia holding 3 double-headed snakes/serpents wearing an elaborate feline/monster headdress showing fierce demon facial features. It shows many levels of patination. It is 7.2" X 5.7". It is attributed to the Chavin culture...

Although just a fragment, the imagery is outstanding in this substantial gray pottery piece. Molded and carved, it depicts two seated chieftains facing one another over a table (?) resting on a skull. The imagery is crisp and clear. The piece measures 6" X 2-5/8", while the image itself is 4" in width by 1-3/4". Dating to the 5th - 8th century AD.

All of these points are translucent agatized coral found in Florida. I purchased 1, 2 (Bolen), 3 (Hillsborough) and 5 (Hernando) from Tom Davis. i still have his pre-internet catalog which will go to the buyer. He purchased these from one of the oldest and best collections in Florida, John Claytor. Agatized coral is a material highly sought after and prized by collectors and always brings a premium price. A highly interesting and very accomplished Blackware vessel with the portrait head of a living man, Precolumbian Peru, Late Moche or early Chimú, 7th.-9th. century AD.

Superbly detailed and rather substantial vessel, made as a grinning man with his tungue between his teeth and wearing larger earrings and headdress, the spout of the vessel prodruding from the top of his head. Rather scarce piece!
