In my 40+ years of collecting, I have seen many bone fish hooks and have owned over 30. This one is the best I have ever seen. It is a G-10+, museum quality. I will put this one up against anyone in existence. This one is so well made that it goes beyond being utilitarian and was probably a family keepsake and worn as an effigy pendant according to Robert Butler who authenticated it. It is from Bracken County, Kentucky, Turtle Creek Village Site. It is 1 7/16" x 11/16...

If you own the finest Columbia River gem point collection, this will be your centerpiece. It is the only AUTHENTICATED PRECIOUS FIRE OPAL POINT FROM OREGON KNOWN TO EXIST. This opal point was found in 1955 at the foot of Hart Mountain, Crump Lake area, Oregon, by Bob Rock, in the presence of the late Carroll Howe which I confirmed with a telephone call to Carroll. Carroll wrote four books on northwest material. There is an opal outcropping about 30 miles away that matches this type of opal...

This unique Mayan translucent jadeite tube pipe is simply astounding and extremely detailed. The earliest mesoamerican pipes were tube pipes and date back to 1500BC. The material being smoked was inserted into the mouth of the serpent and inhaled from the other side. It could have had a perishable stem such as bone or wood. It was probably worn as a pendant until smoked. This is a particularly unique interpretation and rendition of a coiled snake...
