Attic red-figure cup with a nude athlete standing between a stele and an altar.
The right arm is outstretched towards the altar in front of him, with the left hand he holds a strigil close to his body.
The young man wears a purple fillet with a vertical spike at the front. The eye is depicted in profile. The hair over the forehead with a row of dangling dots...

Fine Western Greek head fragment with calm expression and appealing Early Classical facial features. The face shows a prominent nose, full lips and a heavy chin. The beautifully arched brows span over indistinct eyes that were originally painted. The hairline above the forehead with heavy curls.
The Severe Style marks the transition from Late Archaic to Early Classical art. It is defined by the simplicity or severity of forms, visible in both facial features and treatment of the clothes...

Condition: Very fine for the fragile type. Crack at the top and handles / rim, reattached but the vessel looks nice with original surfaces and greyish-brown patina.

Rare seated figure with writing tablets folded open on the lap. The writing right hand rests on the tablet, which is held with the other. The small face with a prominent nose, the eyes and the mouth indistinct and originally painted. Curls frame the forehead and braids fall along the neck.
The figure wears a skin-tight tunic that might have been originally painted...
