Highly interesting stone seal carved in an extremely hard jade-like stone (probably nephrite), Anatolia, found at Mersin, c. 2nd.-1st. millenium BC.

Archais symethric grit pattern in the base, the seal itself of a monolithic shape that could look like an animal head. This is dated by Oberländer to the Pre-Historic period, but we believe it to be a later seal, due to the shape of the seal and the very hard stone used.

Attractive greater Mesopotamian type of dagger with a short tang and two rivets in each top side of the triangular blade with a diamond shaped crossection.

A finely carved black stone seal with a scarce oval high dome shape, probably an animal form, Anatolia or Syria, c. late 4th.-early 3rd. millenium BC.

Carved with an interesting pattern with three drilled round pellets in a grit. Aquired by the collector in 2003.

Ancient Near East, Luristan, ca. 1200 to 800 BC. An elaborate bronze cloak pin, cast via the lost wax (cire perdue) process with a Zoomorphic beast terminal.

Used to fasten clothes, in this case due to the unusually heavy fabric and decoration, likely leather for presentation use - perhaps for a very thick cape or leather armor.

Size: 11,2 cm.

Condition: Superb! Wonderful dark-green patina.

This is a bronze dagger from the Bactrian culture dating to roughly 2000-2500 BC. It is a fine, intact example of ancient bronze weaponry. It measures 173 mm in length and weighs 57 grams. The metal is solid and stable with an "as found" patina. This is a quality weapon at a reasonable price.

Interesting early geomethric design stamp seal, carved in black stone, Eastern most Anatolia / Western Mesopotamia, c. late 7th.-6th. millenium BC.

The slightly irregular rectangular seal carved with a grit-pattern and with an evolving pierced handle on the back, finely polished.

Size: c. 27-28 mm. wide and 17 mm. thick and c. 16 mm. tall.

A beautiful seal, carved in greyish stone with a knob handle, Western Asia, Neo-Hittite states, c. 1200-700 BC

Triangular seal plate, engraved with a springing 4-legged animal, scorpion below and another animal above!

Diameter: 18-19 mm. in diameter.

Condition: Extremely fine.

Ex. German Collection (Berlin), collected from the 1980s and onwards.

Reff. See Ashmolean collection AN1914.53 for a similar style seal, attributed to Syria.

A larger hemispheric stone seal with a dome and elaborate line below the drilling on the top, Mesopotamian, Uruk period c. 4000-3000 BC.

The seal is carved with a later version of the archaic 'grit' pattern, where it looks like horisontical script-lines. Very nicely made in an attractive and very hard green-black stone.

Size: 28 mm. in diameter, 14-15 mm. tall.

Condition: Extremely fine, wonderful earthern patina.
