A beautiful and very scarce stamp seal, scaraboid shape, Neo-Babylonian, ca. 8th.-6th. century BC.

The seal superbly polished in a multi-layered banded agate stone. On the base carved with a winged beast.

Size: 18 mm.

Condition: Choice!, signs of much ancient use with wear around the edges of the horisontical piercing.

Ex. Egeskov Private Collection, ex Senatus Consulto, 2003, formerly in a German Private Collection 1970-1989.

An extremely rare seal made of solid silver c. late 2nd.-early 1st. millenium BC.

The seal of a familiar type of cone-formed seals, known in stone and bronze, as Western Mesopotamian types from Urartu and other Neo-Hittite / Neo-Assyrian client states further south. The seal engraved in the base with two figures.

Seals of silver are extremely rare from any of the ancient cultures, especially a seal this early. We've had only 3 other silver seals in stock for 25 years...

Beuatiful and rare seal depicting a Hermes Caduceus and three naked people that seems to be dancing on each side.

Size: 11 mm.

Condition: Nice VF, few dents.

An ancient Egyptian alabaster plumb-bob with suspension holes on the sides and on top. New Kingdom, 1570-1070 BC. 1 5/8 inches high. From an old NYC scholarly collection. A plumb bob is a weight, with a pointed tip on the bottom, suspended from a string and used as a vertical direction as a reference point. Plumb bobs were appreciated for their ability to furnish a true vertical line. The ancient Egyptians used plumb tools for leveling and as a way to continue distances vertically...

Lovely lot with some very elaborately knapped types in different kinds of fine stones. The lot includes types from c. 10.000 BC or earlier to perhaps as late as 2000 BC, more research is needed to accurately date each point...

A superb condition larger iron key, European, Late Medieval, c. 13th.-14th. century.

The key with a doomed bow and the stem ending in a long spike. The bit with a cruciform slot. Probably a passage door key.

Size: 14,6 cm.

Condition: Extremely fine, completely intact with superficial black iron patina and fine metal beneath.

Ex. Important old Danish collection of keys.

The torch is nicely and richly decorated with incised decoration of large palm branches all around and burning marks from the inside

A lovely substantial Persian stoneware bowl, late 12th or 13th century AD

Stoneware under an opaque turquoise and cobalt glaze with floral design and markings in black. Wonderful 'grazing' of the glaze and with irriscence.

Diameter: 21,52 cm. and 10,2 cm. tall.

Condition: Near Extremely fine for type, completely intact with small area of touched up glaze on the back. No repairs and exceptional gloss and patina.

This is an impressively preserved Terracotta Tomb Pottery, Sancai-Glazed figure of Lu Dongbin, one of the Eight Immortals. He is one of the most widely known of the Eight Daoist Immortals and considered to be the leader of the group. He is thought to have lived during the Tang Dynasty (618-906) and he is depicted as a scholarly gentleman. He appears sitting on a stool, holding a fan. A very beautifully carved and polished stamp seal, Syro-Levantine, c. 1st. millenium BC.

A very elaborately carved seal with a tall handle, carved in a cream stone, very glossy! The seal is carved with a depiction of a large bird attacking a smaller animal, perhaps a sheep. Highly unusual.

Size: 20 mm. tall.

Condition: Extremely Fine, uncleaned red dessert sand deposits in the devices.

Attractive seal in an orange stone, carved with the image of Deities with weapons and a winged 4--legged animal, Greater mesopotamia, Neo-Assyrian period, c. 900-700 BC. Probably Levantine workmanship.
