This ancient Egyptian Scarab, c. 1250 BC, is from the famous Mitry collection (see our Homepage). It is 7/16” long (11 mm) and made of steatite, an easy-to-carve stone that hardens when heated. Scarabs empowered life and resurrection and were often placed under mummy wrappings to protect the body and help it resurrect. This Scarab comes in a jewelry display cup. Archaic satyr with protruding almond-shaped eyes, enormous snub nose, and full lips with slight archaic smile.

An above average large/thick Ushabti, Third Intermediate Period, 21/22th dynasty (ca 1085-713BC)
A blue-green faience shabti, wearing the headband and two hoes. Inscribed shabti with clear hieroglyphs at the lower front. Details are added in black.

Condition: Choice with intact painted details and nice patina. Much uncleaned deposits.

An nice earthenware bowl with incised decoration in a white slip and painted in green and manganese in a yellowish glaze (Bamiyan type), afghanistan, 12th. century (Pre 1221 A.D.).
With carinated walls, pseudo-caligraphy and symethric decorations in high relief. As typical for the most boldest specimens, the green colours are sort of splashed on.

This is a nice, leaf shaped, bronze spear point from ancient Luristan (circa 1500 BC). It measures 203mm and weighs 80 grams. It is slightly thicker in the middle than on the edges. It is in "as found" condition with no apparent damage or repair.
Attic squat lekythos of ovoid body decorated with a net motif in black and crème.
The lekythos belongs to the Attic Bulas Group, which manufactured small vases. As a characteristic of the Bulas Group, the net ornament is applied directly on the clay ground.
The rim and the upper portion of the handle are glazed black; the reserved neck with black lines and vertical tongues in applied white.

This is a nice little dagger from the collection of the late John Piscopo. Mr. Piscopo's tag will stay with the item. It weighs 42 grams and measures nearly 17cm. It has three rivet perforations in the handle. It does not appear to have any repair and seems fairly solid. This is a good chance to own an inexpensive piece from the Piscopo collection.
