Relics of the Nile is pleased to present this splendid intact Greek Lekanis for your consideration. The Lekanis remains in excellent, intact condition with only standard wear and minor chips that do not detract. The lid of the lekanis features palmette design with a lady of fashion and a banded design around the base. Both handles remain intact and the piece measures 9cm high x 18cm in diameter. Greece, 4th Century B.C.
An interesting and well-engraved seal ring made of an alloy of bronze and silver end probably once gilt, Sasanian, c. 4th.-5th. century AD.
The ring engraved with a very nice enface portrait of a Sasanian king. Cleaned but retaining some patina. The ring has a closed hairline crack at the back, othervise intact.
Size: The ring is c. 25 mm. wide.

A fine specimen of a Danish Neolithic Battle Mace, dating to Single Grave Period - c. 2800-2400 B.C.
The mace is carved from hardstone with an elliptical body. In the center a furrow - approx. 0,5 deep and 1 cm. wide - is carved, to make a secure fastening of the mace to the wooden shaft.
Size: 11 x 5 x 6 cm - weighing 720 gr.
Condition: A choice mace with very few imperfections. Nice patination.

A puzzling piece made in patinated bronze or silver. The alloy is very white, so it could be silver too.
Luristan, 1st. millenium BC. The piece is perhaps a horsebit or horse-equipment. It's decorated with two rams heads on each side of a long pole that has two bases.
Size: 12,8 cm. long and 5,5 cm. high. ca. 102 grams

A rare and very early German wooden figure of Saint John with lamb, Germany, 16th. century.
A finely made figure, with polychrome painted gesso on carved wood. With inlaid glass eyes.
Size: 36,3 cm. tall.
Condition: Choice for type, intact with a few tiny losses to fingertips and wear to the original paint on the figure. The staff probably a later 19th. century addition.
