This is a beautiful lapis lazuli scarab, 1/2" (13 mm) long. It is a particularly fine piece of lapis. It came from R. Box, a retired police inspector in Oxford, UK, in 1995.

This beautiful green jasper Heart Scarab is 1/2" (13 mm) long and dates to ~900 BC. Inscribed Heart Scarabs were placed over a mummy’s heart to keep it from revealing any sin during its ‘Weighing of the Heart.’ Smaller, uninscribed Heart Scarabs, like this one, were introduced ~1000 BC.
