Amazing massive ushabti of the finest style of the Late period, Egypt, 26th - 30th Dynasty, approx. 664 - 332 BC.

Shown mummiform, this exceptional large and beautiful Ushabti, still untranslated, probably represents an important nobleman. As quite rarely seen, the othervise greenish faience, came out as almost black in the kiln, so it looks almost like basalt, very attractive!

An accomplished and very interesting larger stone cylinder seal, from the Uruk period of Mesopotamia, c. 3500-3000 BC.

The fine drill-style carved shows thick vertical bars, and some strange creatures behind and around these bars. Attractive high relief seal carved in a black stone, with loop at the top instead of the usual vertical drilling.

Daunian kyathos with wide flat floor and slightly flared rim, the tall strap handle attached at one end.
Decorated (inside and out) with bands and linear patterns in umber and brick red on a buff ground. The floor enhanced with a central flower device.
The floor of vase suffered a shrinkage crack during the drying process. The kyathos was nevertheless fired and reserved for ritual/funerary purposes.

This type of bronze weapon is generally designated as a short sword. It has a substantial midrib with tapering edges. The edges are concave in the upper part and gracefully draw into spikes or wings that extend around either side of the tang. A nice pair of ancient Near East Bronze javelins / spear points. Likely Neo-Elamite, dating to around 1200-800 BC.

Commonly called 'Luristani' by dealers and collectors. Both with tangs, prominent central midribs. Both have incised criss cross patterns near the bottom of the blades on ones side.

This fascinating artifact is an ancient Canaanite bronze dagger blade, estimated to date back to the Bronze Age, specifically around 1500-1200 BC, which coincides with the time of Moses. This is an ancient Egyptian Scarab, c. 1250 BC, from the famous Mitry collection (see our Homepage). It is 5/8” long (16 mm) and made of steatite, an easy-to-carve stone that hardens when heated. Scarabs empowered life and resurrection and were often placed under mummy wrappings to protect the body and help it resurrect. This Scarab comes in a jewelry display cup. It was chipped by the artisan maker, who then used glaze to lock the piece back in place when it was fired.

This is a pair of ancient Chinese bronze cheek pieces from a horse harness. They are strikingly similar to ones excavated in Fufeng County, Shaanxi Province, and currently on display at the Shaanxi Provincial Zhouyan Museum.
