A nice lacquer screen mirror used by Scholars in their work tables. The mirror is surrounded by the usual key fret design while the base is carved with the auspicious melon, peony and peach, representing longevity and prosperity. The mirror looks like it is the original mirror.
Size: H. 62.5cm. W. at the base, 41.5cm.
Condition: No repairs. Normal wear and some age cracks.
Antique Chinese 6-panel coromandel screen made of hardwood, possibly zitan. Inlaid with scholar items carved of various hardwoods and jade.
All panels fit together with the original hooks and pins. In beautiful condition.

Rare pair of Blackwood side chairs. These were usually reserved for the men. This is classical Northern Chinese design. Very simple but elegant, classical Ming design. My favorite type of Chinese furniture.

A large and rare Chinese blackwood day bed low table. This table was designed to be placed in the canopy bed for reading and eating.

A very rare blackwood Hungmu rectangle table in it's original condition. This table has never been restored, has all the original hardware and is in fine condition for its age. Blackwood tables are quite rare.

Antique pair of Chinese official's hat arm chairs, made of huanghuali wood with intricately woven rattan seats. Carved cusped edged apron. Dramatic grain.

Dimensions: 44" high x 18 7/8" wide x 17" deep. Seat: 20 1/2" high.
The Ming dynasty tradition of mortise and tenon joinery can be seen and experienced in this later Ming form day bed. The Zitan bed platform rests soundly on all four inverted horse hoof legs. Mortise corners frame the woven bamboo rattan seat cover. For added flexibility, roped lacing and carved wooden support structures help reinforce the durability of its function.
The back and side rails form a lattice-like structure called “wheel of life” pattern...
A pair of Quan Yi Huanghuali horseshoe back armchairs from the 18th Century. The generously proportioned curving top rail is made in five parts using half-lap pressure peg joints terminating in a curved look beyond the goose-neck side and front corner post. The back splat is carved with a Chimera medallion. The back corner posts continues through the frame of the soft mat seat to form the back legs and front legs enclosing the cusped apron carved in relief with curling tendrils...
A nice large sculptured natural root stand from the Mid Ching Dynasty. A flat surface can be placed on the top of the sculptured stand. Size: H. 70cm. W. 30cm. Condition: No repairs.
Pair Chinese square Rosewood Tables, Ca. 1920, 20" high, 17" square, inlaid with Bone representing shape of Dragons on four(4) side skirts, supported by square tapered curved end on the bottom, all the legs are reinforced by stretchers with the side skirts. It also supported by extra bars underneath the tops. There are some small pieces of inlaid Bones are missing.
Chinese Rosewood heavy weight three(3) Tier Table, 31" high, 17" x 13" wide, mid to late 19th century, 2 solid piece of rosewood panel table tops and third bottom tier top is made of rosewood lattice work, whole table is framed with solid Rosewood and supported by 4 turned legs, no nail was used, all wooden pieces are pegged into the the other pieces of wood.

DESCRIPTION: A rare and beautiful Chinese daybed or opium bed (also referred to as a lady's couch bed, lohan, or "ta" bed), the black lacquered wood back and side panels shaped as an unfurled scroll with elaborate decorations including figural scenes, animals, flowers and birds, Chinese poetry and pierced gilt carvings. These surround a rectangular support frame topped with a woven mat seat. Below the seat an elaborately carved skirt stretches between thick, boldly carved legs...
A rare scholar's table chest made of black wood. All original brass lock and handles. The bottom is also black wood.

Condition: No repairs. Minor age crack on the lid.
Antique Chinese red lacquer altar cabinet/coffer. The two front swinging doors open by two metal pulls hanging from a round lock plate, the patina slightly oxidized green. The interior holds a single shelf. Above are two drawers opened with pulls, identical to the doors below. Original condition.
