This is Edo yosegire Patchwork itajime katazome chirimen-silk kimono in Edo period(1603-1868). This is very beautiful yosegire kimono. In the skirt part of the lining, it is cotton and there is damage. There is a little, thin stain. However, it is not remarkable. This is boro sashiko noragi hanten textile at Meiji era (1868-1912). It is very nice touch of the indigo dye cotton. It is very charming. The indigo dye of hemp has adhered back. It is exactly a work of art. Size:94cm/37"x 86cm/33.9"

Beautiful Japanese antique wedding kimono of blue silk and embroidered all over with charming traditional wedding scenes of cranes and turtles, shochikubai (the three friends of winter) pine, plum and bamboo and a profusion of different flowers including chrysanthemums, magnolia, peonies, and camellias. Extensive use of gold embroidery. Lined in red silk and padded at hem. Meiji Period. Size: 66" high x 49 1/2" wide

This is one of the best Shounai-Noren used in Shonai, Yamagata area for Edo period. As for the hemp of this item, a delicate thread spun by hand is used. The pattern is full of Chadougu which was popular in Shikoku. Chadougu is an instrument used at tea ceremony. The Chadougu design reached shounai by a goods-carrying merchant ship. The artist Fujita displayed cloth full of Chadougu in the atelier of Japan. There was the picture near a great painter without sense of incongruity...

This is Kuge-Costume silk nishijin textile the last part of Edo era is rare(1800-1867).This does not have damage. There is a thin stain to the string of hakama. However, it is excellent condition.The kuge was a Japanese aristocratic class that dominated the Japanese imperial court in Kyoto from its establishment as the capital in the late 8th century until the rise of the Shogunate in the 12th century, at which point it was eclipsed by the daimyo...

A beautiful hand painted Uchikake kimono with pine trees and rocks in sumi-e black ink (dye) style, a symbol of winter, New Year and the longevity. The fabric is Shioze silk (thicker than regular silk), not shiney as satin silk. Very well preserved; no stains. It is evenly discolored to a creamy color and still wearable. Circa, late Meiji to early Showa, 1900 to 1940.
