Meiji (1868-1912) Period Japanese Gilt Bronze Model of a Pheasant on Wood Stand

It is 15 inches (38 cm) tall with stand, 10.75 inches (27 cm) without stand by 22 inches (56 cm) long by 8.25 inches (21 cm) wide. It is 11 lb.

It has rubbing of gold and has oxidation, cracks at the wood stand, and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos).

A pair of lacquered nesting trays decorated with motif of waves in the Rinpa style. Antique Japanese carved wooden mask of an okina, or old man, used in the theatrical art form of Noh. Every Noh mask represents a specific character, and when the shite (performer) puts on their mask, the term for putting on clothing (kaburu) is not used. It is made of a kiri (paulownia) wood with original dark finish, the front of the box has ornate bronze hardware in the shape of chrysanthemum petals, locks and extensive back bracing all made out of iron. It features a top drawer with a kakute handle and two hinged doors opening to five smaller drawers with ring shaped pulls...

An Arita bowl decorated with a design of Azami, Thistles, a motif emblematic of Spring painted in a refined pencilled style called senbeki both to the interior and exterior. A brilliant set of 5 gentlemen from the Edo Period C.1850 by Kunisada I, one of the masters of the time. He was given the name Toyokuni III by his famous teacher Toyokuni in 1844.
