19th Century Chinese Herb Chenxiang Aloeswood Powder 91 Beads & Peking Glass Court Necklace (Chao Zhu) 紫金锭藥珠

It is 61.3 inches (156 cm) in circumference by 32.7 inches (83.2 cm) wide. The herb powder beads are 0.45 inch (1.14cm) in diameter. There are 91 herb powder beads, 21 small Peking glass beads, 4 large green Peking glass beads, and 1 Peking glass head. It weighs 0.55 Lb.

This very rare pottery model of a duck was made during the Warring States period (475 - 221 BC). It is "heavily-potted" and made from quite a high-fired grey pottery. The duck stands with its neck and wings stretched, as if in the act of preparing to fly. Note the detail, especially to the wings, with the tiger heads. The style and decoration suggest this model was based on a bronze example...
