Japanese antique scroll container used by a samurai of the Maeda Clan to transport important documents. The interior cylinder is made of bamboo covered with gilded paper brocade and extensive decorative copper reinforcements. The copper has traces of gilt and is incised with the Maeda Family crest as well as designs of pine, bamboo and plum (The Three Friends of Winter, Sho Chiku Bai)...

Width approximately 34 cm (across the handles). Height approximately 25 cm. The cover handle is repaired. In good condition.

Late 18th to early century Japanese sword tsuba with relief decoration of all sorts of natural objects, including ginkgo nuts and leaves, pine needles and cones, mushrooms, cherry flowers, maple leaves and acorns. Subtle design in Japanese taste, couple of rust spots on the surface, beautiful patina, very tranquil piece. Height 2 9/16 inches.

DESCRIPTION: An attractive oval brass box, the hinged lid decorated with a carved carnelian stone at the center with raised brass leaves on either side. Signed at the interior lid, such a box might have been used for snuff, jewelry, cosmetics or medicines. This attractive little box is in excellent condition and dates from the first quarter of the 20th C. DIMENSIONS: 2 ¼” long (5.7 cm) x 1 1/8” wide (2.9 cm) x 1” high (2.5 cm).

This is a very special example of Japanese Cloisonne. The workmanship and elegant form are what makes this piece so special. This vase was acquired from one of the world's greatest cloisonne collections. It measures 12 inches tall. Great overall condition but it does has a very tiny enamel flake (See last image) on the back shoulder and minor pitting. It is not signed.

17th Century Chinese Kangxi Blue & White Porcelain Trencher Salt

It is 2.3 inches (6 cm) tall by 3.4 inches (8.2 cm) wide. It is 0.3 Lb.

It has skip glazes, small chips at the rim and foot, hairline cracks at the foot, dark spots, firing cracks, and surface wear and scratches (as seen in the photos).

Japanese Stag Horn Monkey Netsuke, 18th C. Edo period, 2 3/4" high, 1" wide, 1 1/4" deep, Monkey is holding huge Mushroom. The condition is good, old patina is lustrous.

Japanese Netsuke, Dutchman carrying Ham, carved out of Stag Antler, Ca. 18th C to 19th C. Edo period, 2 3/8" high, 3/4" wide, Dutchman wearing cute round Hat and carrying Ham holding with Bone, the condition is good, I do not see any damages, two(2) holes in the lower backside for cord go through, bottom is hollow, shows old nice patina.

Richly glazed in deep blue this Chinese jar has a dark brown glazed interior to accommodate liquid storage. The lid has an embossed Chinese symbol for longevity which suggests to me the jar's intent was to store something special for your health and well being. Featuring a wonderful globular shape, the jar and lid are in excellent condition. Measures 4 inches high, 5" diameter. Dates early 20th C

A large deep bowl made for the Japanese domestic market painted with a “kotobuki” longevity shou character ground in iron red, gold and underglaze blue inset with three ogee lobed reserves with Aoi or Shuro mon within a karakusa style vine arabesque. Late 19th C Chinese famille rose porcelain pillow with a lovely hand painted design of woman in a garden setting with the opposing side featuring a bird perched in a beautiful flowering tree. The enameling on the bird and tree is particularly rich. On one end of the pillow there are 8 spur marks surrounding the pierced decoration. In good antique condition there is some general wear and rubbing, some chips at corners and kiln pops along the edges. Measures 5" x 5" x 2.5"

The gold work on the band. The center has design of poet at the top of tree trunk with brush and paper on his hand. Poet's Kimono with gold work. The Plum tree is nicely painted. The ground and grass have gold works on them. Sky clouds are done with gold work as well...

An antique Japanese Ko Bo Tansu (personal storage chest with locking bar) made entirely of Kirinoki (Paulownia) wood. Hinged door hides three small drawer behind. Unusual tapered locking bar design. All original finish and hand made iron fittings with Kakute handles.

Contemporary uses include using it as a bedside nightstand or complementing any room as a side table.
