This is a well-painted double-sided erotic miniature, 19th century or earlier. The painting has slight staining and has not been examined outside the frame. Possibly from a Kama Sutra text, or the Gulistan. The leaf measures 4-1/4" X 7". Gold highlights. Overall measurement of the frame is 6" X 8-1/2". 19th century or earlier.

Antique 19th century Islamic Indo-Persian Qajar papier-mache lacquer hand-painted book cover with clean pages ready to write poems.

The bindings are rectangular, and the front and the back are finely hand-painted with central lobed medallions depicting various figures in domestic and garden settings surrounded by flower sprays and foliage within a further border of flower sprays. The inner sides are painted with birds and antelope amongst vegetation on a black background...

Composite panel of antique Ottoman embroideries, made into a rectangular shaped woman’s prayer cloth indicating qibla, the direction of prayer. Made in the Ottoman city of Salonika or Kavala. The basic fabrics are different plain weaves, embroidered with silk and silver wrapped threads, crocheted together. Two patches with a kind of floral needle weaving. Bordered with a green ribbon and later lining. Condition: stained and flawed areas, missing threads, faded. Dimension: 159.5 cm x 98 cm.

A textile panel made of different dyed silk stripes, exquisitely embroidered with motifs from Zoroastrian myths such as fishes or botehs. The backing is a coarse blue dyed cotton, framed by a black ribbon. Antique Kilim runner of Turkish nomadic tribe origin. A series of 9 large bands, each with three large diamond shaped reserves inside which are crosses surrounded by protective hooked borders. Smaller protective diamond shapes and crosses fill in the space around each large motif. Bands of white with small crosses and diamond provide more protection. Hand woven of wool. Circa 1900. Size: 101" long x 31 1/2" wide.
