Antique pair of Japanese samuri dolls aka musha ningyo representing the Empress Jingo and her faithful minister Takenouchi no Sukune. Unfortunately, the baby Ojin has been lost. Both dolls are beautifully detailed and in excellent condition. She is 9 inches tall and he is 6 inches tall. Shown on a home made stand

This old Japanese hook would have been suspended over the hearth and used to hang cooking pots over the fire. Obviously used by a rural farm family, this pothook or jizai kagi would have been hung by a rope above the fireplace, and the hook has been "firepolished" from years of use.

Chinese antique hardwood cabinet with interior shelving. The cabinet doors are carved with pine trees and bamboo. The lower egister is carved with a rectilinear design. The bottom has a fan, a bat, and a lychee branch.

During the Edo period, the daimyo (Feudal lords) from each region was required to live in Edo (today’s Tokyo) every other year. This type of Kamishimo (official attire for samurai) with small repeated patterns (komon) was like their uniform when they attended official function in the Edo castle or others. Each region had their own design made. The characteristic of kamishimo komon was that it looked plain (one color) when it was looked at in the distance...

Antique Chinese framed scroll depicting the bodhisattva of compassion, Quan Yin. She is dressed in long, flowing robes with metal rings, and a crown of the Amitābha Buddha. She holds in her left hand a small jar filled with pure water, and in her right the branch of a willow tree. She stands barefoot on the head of a dragon, with a white parrot carrying long beads in its mouth flying overhead. Her two young acolytes, a girl named Longnü and a boy named Shancai, stand at her sides...

Exceptionally beautiful Japanese lacquer box with a small doll, mame (pea sized) Ichimatsu nigyo (doll) inside - she actually is 4 ½” tall. This must have been some girl's (or woman’s) treasure box years ago. It may have been a gift from her mother or grandmother. The lacquer box is decorated with auspicious designs; a long tailed turtle emerging from a stream, pine, bamboo and rocks on the bank with a crane flying above...

Antique Japanese folk hina dolls, ladies in waiting from the Heian Imperial Court (794-1185). The dolls are part of the Hina Matsuri Festival for girls in Japan. The approx. height of the tall dolls are 8 1/4" tall, the seated doll is 4 1/2". Made in Osaka, Japan (by NAKAGAWA Kiyojiro)

This is a late qing early republic era yenyen blue and white vase with the deer, crane and pine tree symbolizing longevity, status and prosperity, perfect condition without mark and only double ciurcle, trying to be in Kangxi style, so this is probably a revival kangxi piece of art.

Height approximately 36 cm. An ear has been repaired. There are cracks at the base through the shoulder.

White Marble from China was referred to as Chinese Alabaster because of its grain and translucent quality. This small simple inkstone is both beautiful to see and to touch. There is a very worn rim surrounding the grinding surface and inkwell and 4 very worn feet on the bottom of the ink stone to raise it slightly off the surface.

Japanese Takeda doll, Benkei. We originaly thought this doll was Benkei but somehow he was changed into to Samurai Kiyomasa (16 to 17th century samurai general). We should be correcting or leave him as is with a tiger. Circa Meiji period (1868-1912). 15 inches tall, 14 1/2 inches across platform.

Dr Fu Qing Zhu "published" his book on Women's Health Issues in 1816. Originally hand copied until the 1860's, publications after that were made using hand carved woodblocks. This particular copy appears to be from 1885. It has all 4 volumes and the original cloth binding cover. There are hand written prescriptions on the front of 2 volumes...

Antique Japanese Funa Tansu (merchant's ship safe), made of Keyaki (Zelkova) wood, heavy iron hardware including raised Chrysanthemum buds in corners and on hinges, large iron Chrysanthemum locks, sliding panel opens to 2 interior drawers, hinged door opens to 3 interior drawers, comes with 2 keys.

Antique Japanese set of 9 Imari ware chargers, beautiful and rare, unusual dark blue and orange colors in central lotus leaves motif with gold details, striking scrolling designs and pheonixes in light blues, reds and green, each is signed on back, Meiji Period (1868-1912). Size of each: 12" wide diameter x 1 1/2" high

The black stone tile has mosaic inlay of mother of pearl Taj Mahal detailed with black pen ink lines. This Anglo Indian Victorian piece from the Raj era would have come from the Visagapatam region of India, which was known for its finely detailed black pen ink designs.

Pristine condition and very beautiful. Measured top to bottom and side to side 6 inches each way...measured point to point 6.5 inches

A Vietnamese Anamese Blue and White Ewer. Height approximately 8 cm. From the handle to the tip spout is approximately 11 cm. The ewer has some peeled glaze, mostly on the handle. In good condition.
