Ancient Islamic zig zag wound glass bead black and yellow 900-1100 AD, solid stable almost 1/2"

Antique ancestor figure from Papua New Guinea from the lower sepik region, a standing male nude figure the eyes covered with shell and at one time a skirt and raffia through the nose , this piece is mounted but before mounting we could see that this piece was once part of a post and had fire scorch marks. Old tribal piece not a tourist replica. Size 31" by 8"

This two-part buckle is formed with a dragon head clasp on one piece, and the other is slotted for hooking under the dragon's head. Each has a central medallion cast in low relief of a double gourd “magic elixir” bottle. Both pieces are finished with a stylized bat motif. This is an 18th century Japanese netsuke depicting a sleeping Sarumawashi or monkey trainer, who is unaware that the monkey trainer that he carries on his back is about to steal food from the trainer's basket. Excellent carving with lively expressions. beautiful wear and mellow patina. Deep, uneven himotoshi, common of netsuke from this period. Unsigned. Netsuke measures 1.65 inches (42cm) wide, and 1.08 inches (2.7cm) tall. It is in excellent condition, with just a couple of age hairlines.
