This fine Chinese famille rose pair of Qianlong plates are beautifully enamelled with a large jardiniere of flowers in the centre, surrounded by a dense circular band of foliage and blooms. The colours are vibrant, the gilt and enamelling in very good order and the profusion of pink makes the plates striking.Age: Qianlong (1736-95). size: 9 3/4in. (25cm) diameter.Condition: Excellent, no restoration, no breaks.

A nicely fitted set of 9 rose canton or rose medallion sweet trays. They align well inside a wooden tray. All nicely detailed hand painted butterflies, fruits and flowers. Painting around the sides as well. Unglazed bottoms with no marks except for some Chinese numerals. About 100 to 120 years old with nice orange peel effect.
The assembly is 16" by 16" with no chips or hairlines.

This Chinese Export form of teapot generally dates between 1790-1810. The design has the elements of Rose Medallion but pre-dates Rose Medallion wares by about 20 years. This early piece was likely made around 1800 and is unmarked. Crossed "strap" handles and a charming crab formed knob on the lid--and the enamels are in excellent condition with little wear.
