This is a 10.25" flat soup plate in a RARE pattern called Vase, made by three potteries. This plate was most likely made by Challinor, c. 1850. The body is pearlware and the plate is in excellent, undamaged condition. The central scene is dominated by a large outdoor urn where two peacocks rest, their long feathers trailing below them. The edge is scalloped and the border bears alternating scenes. This is truly a lovely and hard-to-find piece of Staffordshire.
