Victorian Polychrome Parrot Pitcher (C)

Produced by David Lockhart & Co of Glasgow, Scotland, c. 1876-1898, this lovely cream pitcher stands 8.5" tall and measures 7" from handle to spout. It is decorated with gilt and a colorful parrot on each side. Very good condition with no chips or cracks, but there is rubbing on the handle and around the rims. Marked Royal Doulton, England, this square saucer measures 5.5" and features a man carrying a lantern and spear, turning a corner in a village. I believe this is a Dickens plate but am unsure of the character. The saucer is a dark tan with browns and greens. Mint condition.
