Another much sought after Dutch Delft charger decorated with a DRAGON coming from the Grieksche A factory (Greek A: workshop active from 1657-1818). Marked for Jan Theunis Dextra on the reverse. Brown lip. The charger has to be dated circa 1760. It measures 25.5 cm (about 10 inches) across. Condition: good. Wonderful early flow blue trinket box with deep cobalt colors with small hand painted violets, gilt top edges and bottom, with embossed scrolling throughout this lovely box. Unique shape and made by the Victoria Porcelain Factory. Mark: Victoria ~ Carlsbad ~Austria as seen in picture and dates this to 1891~1918. Measures 3-1/2" x 1-3/4"h. Nice 18th century Dutch Delft charger finely decorated with two vases with flower and an insect. The border is decorated with 4 alternating panels with flowers separated by a floral motif and some trellis-work. The charger is of the somewhat harder to find smaller size. It only measures 20 cm (circa 8 inches) across. Condition is good. You will find the usual wear (chips, flakes) consistent with age and material along the lip (outer border). 10 antique Dutch bordertiles ("Tulphalfjes") in frame. According to Jan Pluis these tiles were first produced in 1750. These 10 are of a later date (19th century). Pictured in Jan Pluis' book The Dutch Tile, Designs and Names, 1570-1930 (page 483; A.14.06.34) Condition: 2 tiles broken and glued and the other 8 tiles good to excellent. This tile panel measures app. 35 x 28 cm (14 x 11 inches).
