This antique vanity or small wall mirror is believed to be of Russian origin and features raised floral decoration, jewels and extensive, multi-colored champleve enamel decoration. No hallmarks have been found. Believed to date from the late 19th or very early 20th century. It is reminiscient of champleve silver and bronze works by Antip Kuzmichev who supplied Tiffany in the U.S. around the turn of the century. Original velvet covering on rear. This framed enameled metal plaque from Vienna depicts a hand-painted Roman citizen procession and is signed by the artist " Auguste Wahrmund Wein 1888 ". According to the Benezit, Auguste (Augusta) Wahrmund was born in Vienna in 1862 and was a miniaturist and enamel painter.
