This antique vanity or small wall mirror is believed to be of Russian origin and features raised floral decoration, jewels and extensive, multi-colored champleve enamel decoration. No hallmarks have been found. Believed to date from the late 19th or very early 20th century. It is reminiscient of champleve silver and bronze works by Antip Kuzmichev who supplied Tiffany in the U.S. around the turn of the century. Original velvet covering on rear. Fantastic early Russian silver purse by Pavel Ovchinnikov, exquisitely decorated with a superbly executed en plein miniature of a vibrantly colored spray of flowers on one side, an intricate bird executed in champleve enamel on the reverse side; on each half, the central panel is bordered with a champleve geometric pattern in blues and white; the interior sports the original blue silk lining. Rare Russian silver and champleve enamel charka, enameled inside and out with scrolling floral motifs against an unusual yellow ground. Measuring 4" (10.2 cm) in length, it sports a handle in the form of a bird, enameled top and bottom, emblazoned with a human face. Manufactured in Moscow in 1876, the charka is marked for Pavel Ovchinnikov and is executed in rare 91 standard silver.
