This framed enameled metal plaque from Vienna depicts a hand-painted Roman citizen procession and is signed by the artist " Auguste Wahrmund Wein 1888 ". According to the Benezit, Auguste (Augusta) Wahrmund was born in Vienna in 1862 and was a miniaturist and enamel painter. She went on to marry the noted Austrian landscape painter, August Schaeffer von Wienwald (1833-1916). Lively paprika red, olive green and white enameling embellish the lid and handle of this turn of the century Russian silver tea strainer. This infuser is 916/1000 silver (nearly sterling standard) and gold washed overall. The gilding is all intact. There are no chips to the enameling. The lid is hinged and snaps shut securely. This is in excellent condition measuring 4 3/4" long, weighs 25gr.

Beautiful French enameled plaques grace the 4 sides of this ormolu dried flower or potpourri holder. The plaques are all different and are decorated with medallions of exquisitely hand painted flowers. The medallions are surrounded by a boarder of raised jewels that are probably also enamel but look like opals. Gold scroll work surrounds the jewels. This is an Indo Persian brass or bronze vase from the ancient city of Benares. This 7 3/4 inches in height, of characteristic form with a turnip shaped body and scalloped rim. It dates to about 1800, the period of the Great Raj. The decoration is classic and specific to the city of Benares, with foliage engraved, the details and backgrounds inlaid with enamels. Fabulous pigeon blood enamel small round brass patch or powder box or Bonbonerie with hand painted enamel white morning glories on the top and the bottom of this fine box. Hinged lid works perfectly and measures 2-1/4 round x 1-1/8" high. Condition is near mint with the exception of a couple of minuscule scratches and one pin size bubble pop on the bottom. Lovely pair of French canisters, white with gold trim and lettering and decorated with roses. The shape of the body has a thick raised vertical band around the center, with a blocked area where the beautiful gold script identifies the contents, one farine and the other chicoree. Four roses spaced around the top, adorns the lid. On the body there are two bands, one along the top and the other along the bottom.
