New York state 19th century height 112 cm width 57 cm
This is quite tall for a root stand. By itself it is a beautiful sculpture. It is equally effective as a display stand, we show it with a bronze sculpture by Prince Paul Troubetzkoy. Because of the complexity of the root the appearance of the stand completely changes when viewed from different angles It is triangular at the base so it could be used in a corner.

New Jersey 19th century Height 22.55 cm Length 51 cm
A gnarled piece of wood in the form of an otter. One foot is natural and that suggested the application of the other one. Minimum augmented carving and painting on the head. This was enough to create the familiar fluid form of an otter. The backward toss of the head recalls to the viewer the charming playfulness we all associate with otters.
