A rare pair of cut glass drapery tiebacks from the Brilliant period. Each tieback is cut with a large central hobstar surrounded by a chain of hobstars and has a pair of “arms” with drilled holes used to attach the tiebacks to the wall on either side of a window. The arms are canted so that the large hobstar area extends away from the wall. A silk cord can be anchored around hobstar area and then wrapped around the draperies to keep them pulled back. This is the only pair of American cut gla... Click for details

The glass is thick and heavy. The design is wheel cut of floral and leaves. The lids are brass with mother of pearl insets. There are some dents on the shaker lid contour but I'm not sure that these were not manufactured this way as I have seen many other lids that look similar; regardless, the dents suit the shakers and cause absolutely no problem to the lids. Circa 1920. The glass is in excellent condition.
