Early American Pattern Glass Lions Head Compote (C)

This most interesting piece of early American pattern glass is in the lion's head pattern. Compote and lid are of clear glass, with frosted lion's head decoration on the lid handle and stem. Additional photos are available to see the wonderful lion detail. Stands 12" h with lid, 8" in diameter. Unfortunately the lion's nose on the handle is chipped, but this could be easily restored. A truly fantastic, late 1800's piece.

This is a most interesting piece of historical early American pattern glass. In rememberance of the Spanish-American War of 1898, this 9" tall pitcher is designed with pictures such as crossed swords, the ship USS Olympia, an unidentified admiral, a cannon, crossed flags, and a mound of ammunition. Dates to early 1900s and is in perfect condition.
