A Georgian double series opaque twist wine glass dating to c1765. The ovoid bowl with very deep petal moulding, atop an incredibly complex double series opaque twist stem. A conical foot with rough pontil. Petal moulding to the bowl on an 18th century drinking glass is very unusual; the norm being flute moulding. A scarce glass. English lead glass. Good condition. Height: 5 1/2" Rim Diameter: 2 Foot Diameter: 2 5/8

A Georgian wine glass dating to c1740. The flared bell bowl is mounted on a plain stem before falling to a folded conical foot with rough pontil. English lead glass. Just light wear with a burst bubble to the inner bowl and superbly striated. The line you can see in the bowl photo is a striation and not a scratch. A very elegant glass dating to c1745-1755 with a wide and fine flared trumpet bowl integral with the needle tear stem mounted on a conical folded foot with rough pontil. Lead glass; but very light due to the construction with a fine and wide bowl with superb tooling marks and a very tight fold to the foot. Good condition with just some light scratches to the bowl. A classic Georgian ale glass. The tall funnel bowl has period hops and barley engraving. The stem is an early double series example with a twisted inner gauze and two outer spirals. A broad conical foot with rough pontil. English lead glass. The foot has been polished without reducing the diameter; this is reflected in the pricing of the glass.
