Absolutely rare Dutch tankard. Copper gilded and bronzed. With a 17th. century village scene of people having a party, possibly a copy of a painting by Rembrand. With wine, beer and food. A lovers couple, a wife bringing home her drunken husband, soldiers on horseback, a man peeing in the bushes and lots of other details. Unmarked, but the quallity making and the technics used suggests that this mug is made by the Begeer company (est. 1789) in and around 1870. Considering age and that it's been ... Click for details

A large round, almost hemisphere shaped, bowl, 21" in diameter and 9" high. The rolled edge has bale handles and the bottom piece dovetail joined with the top. There is a repair at the rim, and the polished bowl has numerous dents and some discoloration that may in fact be consistent with this utensil's age and usage. Could be used as a kitchen kettle as well as a fireplace kindling container or just as decoration.
