A Russian gunmetal and gold purse.The purse set with gold initials AK.Gold and sapphire thumbpeice and gold hinges.The inside with cloth compartments set with leather.Gunmetal cases were popular from 1914 onwards due to the start of the war.The better quality examples are set with gold and jewels.This is the first example designed as a purse that I have come accross.Size 70mm x 55mm.Condition is good with some wear to the gunmetal.Clasp snaps tightly,some wear to the cloth compartments.

A fine pair of c1890 folding glasses or lorgnettes made of 14 carat yellow gold. These eyeglasses have 1-3/8 x 1" oval lenses, and they have a mounting hook for folding and a loop for suspension by a ribbon or cord. They retain one nosepiece (probably gutta percha, one is missing) and they are is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, corrosion, repairs or damage other than the one missing nosepiece (they include a partial part of the original cardboard case).
