Middle Eastern presentation box with cloth interior on bottom and nice inlaid design on inside of lid. Octagonal shape, 13" wide, 4" high. Bottom is 1 1/2" deep. Overall surface is micro size wooden and bone inlaid work...very detailed. Some damage(missing pieces).

Hand Carved "William Morris" Oak Frame, dated 1889

This marvelous example of the "William Morris" influence in the decorative arts is a hand-carved oak frame. It is signed and dated in pencil "Broadstreet Thurburt and Co. Oct. 13th 1889". The floral detail. I believe it is a primrose, is superb. The condition is fine with only some slight discoloration and a bit of ware along the beaded inside edge. The measurements of the frame are (outside) 13 3/4" x 11 1/4", while the interior dimensions are 8 3/4" x 6 1/8".

English 19th century dome-top tea caddy executed in burl walnut veneer. The interior divided into two covered tea compartments. Very good condition but one internal cover with crack and missing its knob and a small flake to the veneer on dome. Brass hinges and lock (no key). Size: 6.75 inches long x 4.5 inches deep x 5.6 inches high.

This wonderful English pitcher is made of oak, pewter and brass and has a pewter liner. It dates to the mid 1800's and measures 10" tall from base to finial, 4 3/4" across the bottom and 6 5/8" from spout to handle. It would probably have been used as a ceremonial or trophy pitcher.

Museum quality Russian lacquered wood box top, made by the firm of N. Lukutin of Fedoskino. This piece dates from about 1880 -1890. This piece was once the top of a box, but is presently mounted in an ornate gilded Rococo frame dating to about 1890. The back of the piece is signed by N. Lukutin. The hand-painted signature includes three Imperial double-headed Russian eagles painted in gold, with each holding a shield with an "A" on it, indicating appointment to the household of Czar Alexander II... Probably dating from c.1900. it measures 7 3/4x4 1/4x1 1/4inches (19.6x10.9x3.2 cms).
