Antique wood sticky rice pan. These hard wood trays were handmade by the rural villagers of Northern Thailand. Each one has a unique look and was carved from a single solid piece of wood with primitive tools. Once used by the villagers to spread the hot sticky rice on to get the proper moisture content. Now these primitive kitchen utensils have been replaced with aluminum. Once a family's necessity, now a great rustic home decor accent piece for your modern home. 36 inch tall, 25 1/2 inch wide.

A handsome stick with a staghorn handle, richly patinated bone spacer and leather wrap leading down to a metal tip.

Length is 35", width is 3" at the widest part of horn, mostly 1" down the length and ending with a 7/16" tip.

Condition is very good with a few minor scuffs to the leather.

A very nice folding corner shelf of lacquered papier-mache with metallic decoration of Chinese court scenes. One wall shows ladies riding in a rickshaw while the other shows ladies strolling in a court garden with their guardian. The scalloped edge of the shelf is decorated with a gilt edge.

Origin: England, ca. 1840. Condition: excellent, no cracks, bright coloring. Size: 5” wide; 7-3/8” tall.
